Removing Sweat, Perspiration and Deodorant Stains

Image
Don't sweat the small stuff! Even though we really don't like those embarrassing antiperspirants stains, sweating happens for a reason. You may think we perspire as our bodies are too hot, in reality it's our bodies way of keeping us cool. Perspiration that happens in the armpit area, will have a yellowish color and contains fatty acids and proteins. Most of us; both men and women, have trouble with underarm perspiration. Men may also get perspiration between the shoulder blades, groin area, hands and feet. All of these things can result in stains on your clothing. Here is something you can try to remove deodorant stains: Hydrogen Peroxide I keep bottles of hydrogen peroxide on my shelves. It works great for some many things. It's always a good idea to do a spot check in an inconspicuous spot first. After you've done the spot check, apply straight hydrogen peroxide on the stained area and rub it in. Allow this to sit on the stain for 30 minutes or so. Hydrogen p...

Got A Grass Stain?

Are you looking for ways to get grass stains out of clothing? Grass stains happen! What do you do? When your kids are playing in the yard or you’re on your knees doing yard work, it can be quite common to get grass stains on the knees of our pants. Let it air dry to make sure the stain is gone. Dry Cleaning Solvent Test in an inconspicuous spot first then fo...

Tips for Removing Soap Scum

Image
Everyone needs a little help now and again. One of the areas our new clients have a tough time with is removing soap scum from their tub and shower. Soap scum will build up when you take shower after shower and can be difficult to clean if not cleaned regularly. It's not just soap but minerals from the water, body oils, sloughed off skin and bacteria. When you realize this, I don't think it's something you want yourself or your family bathing in. Get Rid of Soap Scum Ammonia and Water Mix one part household ammonia with two parts water in a spray bottle. Spray on the location and wipe clean. Rinse the area thoroughly. Vinegar Spray white vinegar directly onto the soap scum and allow it to work for a minute or so. Wipe clean. Dryer Sheets Rub a dryer sheet onto the bathtub or shower walls to help remove the soap scum. Heavy Duty Cleaning Borax Borax is a scouring powder and a cleaning agent. Wet a sponge and sprinkle on the borax. Scrub the scum off. This is safer than o...
